Centennial Car Cruise-In

Celebrate a century with a car show featuring vehicles from the 1920s - 2000s! This FREE event will take place in the Thomas Meighan Parking Lot at 5645 Nebraska Ave, New Port Richey, FL 34652. The festivities start at 11am. Vehicle registration for our Centennial Car Cruise-In is closed.
Centennial Picnic in the Park
We're capping off our centennial celebrations with an old-fashioned Picnic in the Park!
There will be food available for purchase, fun field day activities for kids, and dance performances celebrating every decade from the 1920s to the 2020s. There will also be special appearances by local dignitaries, centennial award announcements, and live music. We'll conclude the festivities with a golf cart parade through Downtown New Port Richey!

Centennial Postcard Raffle
Join in on our Centennial Postcard Raffle! Pick up a postcard from participating businesses in downtown New Port Richey and visit five different locations to get your postcard stamped. Once you have all five stamps, drop your completed postcard at the New Port Richey Public Library or the New Port Richey Recreation and Aquatic Center. Winners will be announced during our Picnic in the Park on Sunday, October 27th. Don't miss out on this fun way to support local businesses and celebrate 100 years of New Port Richey!

Historical Walking Tours
Downtown New Port Richey Historical Walking Tours
Join us for hour-long walking tours of historic Downtown New Port Richey as we celebrate the city’s hundredth birthday! Learn the stories behind the area’s historic buildings and get a glimpse into what life was like for its early citizens.
The tours will take place on Sat, Aug. 17, Sat, Sep. 14, Sat, Oct. 5, and Sat, Oct. 19.
All tours will start at the Rao Musunuru, M.D. Museum & Library (6431 Circle Blvd. New Port Richey, FL 34652) and will depart at 6:15pm.
These FREE tours are presented in partnership with the West Pasco Historical Society. No registration is required to participate.
Guided Historical Sunset Paddle
Help us celebrate New Port Richey's Centennial with a historic sunset guided paddle from the James E. Grey Preserve to Sims Park. As we paddle, our guide will teach you all about our city’s history.
We will depart form the James E. Grey Preserve at 5:30pm-5:45pm. The D.A.R.T. shuttle will be available to transport you back to James E. Grey Preserve following the paddle. Please bring your own kayak or paddle board to participate.
Stick around and join us for Free Family Movie Night in Sims Park. We will be playing the movie IF (PG).
History Exhibit Contest
100 Years of NPR: People, Places, and Ideas
New Port Richey is turning 100, so it’s a great time to explore our city’s history and see how it has shaped our lives.
New Port Richey Film Festival
In its early years, the city of New Port Richey was slated to become the “Hollywood of the East”! With our centennial coming up, we’ve decided to honor that heritage with the New Port Richey Film Festival! Join us as we showcase the our community’s past, present, and future!
The film festival will feature submissions from local filmmakers, with categories for youth, teens, and adults. The program will also highlight works by Thomas Meighan and Ed Wynn, and will include historical presentations about our city's motion picture past. The New Port Richey Film Festival is presented in partnership with the City of New Port Richey's Cultural Affairs Committee, the Friends of the New Port Richey Public Library, and the New Port Richey Public Library Advisory Board. This event is open to the public at no charge. Seating will be first come, first served.

This free community event celebrates America's independence and ignites a season of festivities leading up to New Port Richey's 100th anniversary on October 27th! Join us in Sims Park for fireworks, live music, food vendors, bounce houses, and more fun for the whole family!
Centennial Scavenger Hunt
Learn about the city of New Port Richey as we celebrate100 years! Use the clues to navigate your way around the city, stopping by important landmarks as you go. All destinations are walkable, though some destinations are a little farther. (See each clue for estimated distances.) Look for underlined words to help you solve the clues. You can use Google Maps foradditional assistance with addresses. Have fun!
Library Card Design Contest
Artists of all ages are invited to participate in this centennial themed library card contest! There will be two categories for submissions: 12 & under and 13+.
The deadline for entry is Wed, July 31st. The winning designs will be reproduced as special limited edition library cards!
